Hyderabad: Brigade Corporation, a player in
the BPO space, has announced the acquisition of
Hyderabad-based Webhelp Global Services in an
all-cash deal.
The deal is a complete
buyout of Webhelp’s client contracts, existing
facility and 400 of the company’s tech support and
customer service agents.
Brigade
Corporation chairman and CEO Sri Dasari told
reporters, “We will be adding 500 people to our
existing strength of 1,400. After that, we will be
adding 400 people every quarter. The goal is to
increase to beyond 3,000 people by end-2005”.
The company is also planning a capital
expenditure of Rs 30 crore on building office
space in Hyderabad and Chennai, its two locations
in India.
“Once we cross 4,000, we will
look at a third location probably in the Asian
region. The company has already acquired 4 acres
in Hyderabad to build a 1,50,000 sq feet facility
for Rs 25 crore. Brigade is the largest third
party BPO company in Andhra in terms of size and
revenue,” he added.
